Choosing the Right Cannabis Seeds
When choosing what to grow, look for the best seed banks or clones.
Choosing the right Cannabis seeds to grow depends on various things, not just what type of strain you prefer. Some cannabis seeds are engineered to be grown indoors, and some outdoors. Hempland prefers indoor growing, as we are able to have more control of closed environments and are able to yield more throughout the year. When choosing what to grow, we look for the best seed banks or clones as our goal is to develop and improve a strain’s genetics overtime.
Things to Consider
Are you a beginner or experienced grower?
Some strains of Cannabis are harder to grow than others, though, some have been engineered to be easy to grow, are resistant to pests and are able to handle more stress. The less experienced the grower, the more important it is to choose an easy strain to grow.
Indica and Sativa seeds
Cannabis seeds fit into three categories; Indica, Sativa, and Hybrid (combination of both). Breeders often cross strains to change the properties of the originals strains for various reasons. Main reasons are to increase yield, potency, or to strengthen the plant to achieve more consistent results. What is your goal on yield and flowering times?
Indica plants typically grow short and wide, compared to Sativa plants which grow tall and thin. Indica plants are better suited for indoor growing because of their short growth, while they are often more pungent and sativa plants are better suited for outdoor growing because some strains can reach over 25 ft. in height.
