Cannabis entrepreneur Cassandra Farrington to step down as CEO of MJBizDaily, take on role of chair
Cannabis entrepreneur Cassandra Farrington is stepping down from her role as chief executive of Marijuana Business Daily and will transition to the role of chair at year-end. Farrington, who founded the news site and trade show company with a partner in 2011, will be replaced by Chris Walsh, founding editor and president. Farrington is a former Citigroup vice president who launched the site after noticing the proliferation of medical cannabis dispensaries in Boulder as part of Colorado’s medical program. The company quickly expanded into the conference business and is expecting more than 35,000 people from all over the world to attend its Las Vegas event in December.
